Women
Empowerment
(Introduction/Meaning)
Women
empowerment means to make the role of women stronger in the family and society. In
the other words, women empowerment means marginalizing power in women and girls
so that they can play a significant role in the society. Empowering the women
refers to achieve internationally agreed goals for development and
sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women.
(Situation/ Problems) Body -1
Due to the male
dominated structure, the position of women is too weak in every society. They
do not have equal rights and opportunity
in economically, politically and socially. Less
than 100 years ago, women in first world nations could not vote, manage their
own money, or have access to birth control information. Women are still
consistently paid less, expected to be child-rearers, expected to cook, clean,
etc., are the victims of rape and domestic abuse among many other
inequalities. In less forward societies, women can't drive, run for
office, leave the house without a man, sign contracts and more. Clearly
women are not treated as equals around the world. These are the some examples
why women empowerment is needed.
(Solutions / Ways to improve the bad
situation) Body -2
The women produce HALF of the world's food and own only 1% of
its land. And of the 900 million adults worldwide who cannot read or write,
about two thirds are women. Excluding about 51% of the population from genuine
economic and political participation is a bad strategy to make the world a
better place to live. So, to genuinely empower the women, we should implement
the gender equity in the society. Providing them good and higher education,
making them equally involve in the politics and policy making tasks, Let them
work in the office or run their own business and let them have their own money
and property, providing them equal opportunity in all sector, are some
effective strategies to enhance the women empowerment.
(Benefits) Body
-3
Empowering women means enjoying the same
rights and opportunity by all people in
the world, that means making the earth an improved habitat. When a man gets
educated, only the man learns. When a women gets educated the entire generation
learns. Involvement of another half of the population in the development of the
world is an very essential to remove the poverty from the planet.
(Conclusion)
Empowering women doesn't mean dominating men, but work
and live in harmony. Not only men but women themselves should be aware of to
eliminate the discrimination and oppression to women. Money is power, and
education helps to earn money, so if girls are educated, they will have power,
hence can be empowered.
